About Cru Camping

We are headed to Meridian State Park for an awesome camping experience! Meridian is a great park with a beautiful lake, extensive hiking trails, and tons of trees to hang your hammocks on. Get ready for a campfire, canoe time, and time in the word together. Baylor friends are welcome. Come enjoy a weekend connecting with God and other Baylor Bears! Please register so we have numbers for food.

Park History

Meridian State Park, near Meridian in Bosque County, is a 505.4-acre park. A rock and earthen dam was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps on Bee Creek to form the park’s 72-acre lake. The land was acquired from private owners in 1933 – 1935 and was opened to the public in 1935.

Schedule

Friday
5:00 – Leave Waco (eat dinner before you arrive)
6:00 – Arrive Meridian State Park (goo.gl/maps/MbJhXGgP8rm)
6:30 – 7:30pm – Setup tents
8:00 – 9:00pm – Devotional
9:00pm – Bonfire and smores! Worship and prayer

Saturday
8:30-9:30am – Breakfast
9:30-10:30am – Devotional
10:30-11:30am – Personal time with the Lord
12:00pm – Lunch
1:00pm – Free afternoon or free to leave (hiking, canoes, etc.)

Packing List

Necessary

  • Tent with rainfly (can be rented at the SLC)
  • Sleeping Bag (can be rented at the SLC)
  • Sleeping Pad (can be rented at the SLC)
  • Pillow
  • Water bottle
  • Headlamp or flashlight (can be rented at the SLC)
  • Bible, notebook, pen
  • Money to pay your driver (round trip should cost the driver around $10)
  • Money to pay staff ($15 or Venmo)
  • Evening and night clothing (the night can be chilly)
  • Car charger for your phone
