Get Connected

How Can I Get Connected?

There are 4 main ways to get connected to Cru: (1) Our small groups which we call Gospel Communities (8PM on every Tuesday except for once a month). (2) “CRUsday” (our monthly large group meeting) which is at 8PM on one Tuesday of the month (follow us on Instagram to learn specific dates). (3) Our fun social events. (4) Our social media feeds are always helpful to follow to stay up to date on what we are doing in Cru.

Large Group

  • Our large group meeting happens once a month instead of our normal Tuesday night Gospel Communities. CRUsday is at 8:00 PM in the Barfield Drawing Room (SUB). Follow us on Instagram to learn exact dates!
  • CRUsday is the easiest way to check out what Cru is about and meet the people that make up Cru. We gather for an hour and a half to hear biblical teaching, spend time in worship, and get updated on Cru’s upcoming events.

Mission Trip Opportunities

In addition to being an awesome campus ministry, Cru is the largest mission organization on the planet next to the Catholic church. We do missions really well. Our trips are focused on helping you be on mission and pouring into you as a college student. Check out the opportunities below.

N.A.M.E.

Dates: May 23, 2023 – Jul 2, 2023 (approximate)
Cost: $5,500 (approximate
Length: 6 weeks

We have seen more people choose to follow Jesus in this country in the last year than in the previous 25 years combined! You can be a part of this amazing harvest this summer. Here is what it would look like:

Imagine sitting at a cosmopolitan street-side cafe…

Other college students surround you in a beautiful city in the Arab world.  You find it easy to slip into conversations about faith, as the call to prayer blares all around you. Over a cup of tea or coffee, it becomes clear that you’re the first Christian they’ve ever talked to.

How did you meet them? Maybe you participated in a cultural exchange on their campus. Perhaps you initiated a conversation with them in a coffee shop or joined a pickup basketball game. Some of your new friends will have responded to evangelistic ads online!

It’s a summer about the breadth and depth of the Gospel – for you and your new friends! You will be reaching one of the spiritually darkest countries in the world, where less than 1% of the population knows Jesus. And you will grow in ways you’ve never imagined as you rely on the Lord through prayer and steps of faith.

During this Summer Mission

In addition to meeting with students and sharing the gospel, you’ll receive training in cross-cultural ministry. You’ll get to learn how to navigate a big city and even speak a little bit of Arabic! Our team will also have regular times of prayer and Bible study and will do some sightseeing.

San Diego

Dates: May 30, 2023 – Aug 4, 2023 (approximate)
Cost: $4,000 (approximate)
Length: 9 weeks

Surf’s up in beautiful San Diego! Spend your summer getting into the Word, growing in leadership skills, being equipped to share the gospel, and going deep in relationship with other students from around the country.  As a summer mission we will talk with people about Jesus at work, on campuses in the SanDiego area, on the beach and in the community.  Come be a part of this life-changing experience this summer, all while living just steps from the beach!

This is a great mission for students who want to spend their summer in an internship, studying for an entrance exam, or fulfilling school-related requirements while building God’s Kingdom in Southern California.  We also have scholarships available for students from an ethnic minority background (email sdsm@cru.org for details).

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. - Hebrews 10:24-25
